We asked every candidate 13 Yes/No questions. Here’s what they said.

On October 10 we emailed the same short questionnaire to every candidate for mayor, council and school trustee who lists an email address with the City. Every reply is below, word for word, grouped by race. Pick your ward to see your ballot.

About this questionnaire

Mayor and council candidates got questions 1 to 13. School trustee candidates got questions 1 to 10, because they had already answered questions 11 to 13 for the Concerned Parents Association of London ↗. Some questions go beyond what a city council or school board decides; we asked them anyway because voters want to know where candidates stand as people, not only in the role.

Answers appear exactly as the candidate wrote them. We removed only the blank “Yes / No / Unsure:” and “Comment (optional):” lines from our form, and signatures and contact details. “No Yes/No given” means the candidate replied to that question with a comment but didn’t pick Yes, No or Unsure. If a candidate wrote again later about an answer, their later words appear under it, dated.

A candidate marked “asked, no reply yet” can still reply, and we add replies as they arrive. Candidates who don’t list an email with the City weren’t sent the questionnaire. Candidates: to answer or correct anything, reply to our email or write to the address below.
